FAQ'S

How do I book SAS for dog walking or pet visits?

Call or message me and we can arrange a meet and greet, where I can get to know you and your pet and discuss your needs.

If you have any questions or want anything other than the services offered, please do not hesitate to contact me and we can discuss your requirements.

What are the requirements for dog walking?

  • Vaccination certificate up to date
  • Up to date on flea and worming treatments.
  • Microchipped with correct contact details.
  • Collar & ID tags on dogs (UK law legal requirement if in a public place).

What happens regarding keys/access to my home?

Access to your home with a copy of your key will be required or use of a lockbox. Keys will be collected in person and returned as agreed. Your key will be labelled with a code and stored in a locked safe when not in use.

What does a dog walk entail?

I will walk either from your home or drive to somewhere locally to walk where we can enjoy a walk together. I have a double cage in my car suitable for small/medium dogs.

Dogs will be kept on a lead. If your dog has a good recall and you have given written consent, they may be let off the lead.

I offer 1/2 hour or 1 hour for walks from 1-3 dogs and can walk with others if they are happy to socialise and depending on matching temperaments. Solo walks are available also.

Walks can be done on a regular basis or from time-to-time to suit you.

What is included in the pet visit?

Visits are available for all small animals, cats, dogs including puppy visits and senior checks, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, chickens and other exotic pets you may have. Visits range from 15-30 mins depending on your requirements, but longer can be arranged. A visit to your pet may include:

  • feeding/water
  • being let out to urinate/defecate
  • changing litter trays
  • cleaning up any accidents
  • company for your pet
  • play time inside/garden
  • cuddles
  • grooming
  • walking
  • post-operative checks (collars/sutures/bandages ok)
  • house checks (post, bin, lights and curtains)

Cats can often be very independent or nervous and prefer to be in their own environment. Visits may vary from a general check up to feed, clean up and to ensure they are following a normal routine, to needing lots of tickles and attention. Visits can be once or twice a day (typically 20mins).

Puppy visits include individual time spent with pups generally under 6 months old to help break up the day (typically 2/day) and provide that extra care and attention required at the early stages.

Senior visits are available to those dogs that might just need to be let out to toilet and given some companionship or just a short walk from the house to keep them mobile.

Visits to various small furies e.g. rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, hens etc., include a wellness check, feed/water checks, cleaning/changing of bedding, exercise and handing if requested.

I am happy to sort curtains, lights and pop your bin out if needed during visits and I always like to have a good whip round with a brush/hoover too, to clean up and keep things clean and tidy.

Do you do home boarding?

Currently a home boarding service is not available.

What about my pet's medication?

I will happily administer and medication and dietary supplements with your instruction and signed consent.
